For those who still struggle with accuracy, or have not yet studied the safety and mechanics of a firearm, our Pistol 101 or private sessions would be a good step before attending this class. If you are currently in, or have recent experience in, law enforcement and the military, or have recent firearms training with a trainer, you may be able to skip straight to Pistol 1. You may contact admin@magenamusa.org to discuss this further.
Our Pistol 1 class is designed to help shooters learn proper manipulations of a firearm. This includes draw stroke, clearing of stoppages, reloads, ready positions, and target transitions. This class is not intended for first-time shooters. At the completion of Pistol 1, students may elect to take a qualification course based on speed, accuracy, and safety that shows proficiency in the course material. Those who pass the course will receive a certificate of completion, allowing them to attend more advanced classes. Please note that participants are not expected to pass these quals after a single day of training new material. Our expectation is that individuals spend time outside of courses to practice technique using “dry fire” or “airsoft”, or by attending multiple classes.
Please note the following requirements for holsters used in this class: The holster needs to be made specifically for your model firearm. It should be made of hard material. It cannot be an index finger retention device like the Serpa; it must be thumb retention or passive retention holster.
Next Class: Sunday, October 25, 8:30 am -1:30 pm
